Wow, it's been a while since we've blogged! First of all we just want to say sorry for going MIA the last year. We feel we owe our followers an explanation for what has been going on in our lives and why the sudden silence.

1. Let's be honest, Instagram is a much easier and faster way to share the same things we share on our Blog for our ever so shrinking attention spans. As we have gotten older (almost 29, yikes!) we have become mothers and busier with our careers which has made getting on the computer to Blog difficult. This Blog has been such a fun outlet for us over the years to not only keep in touch as our lives have been separated, but also to share our travel adventures with you to help answer any questions you might have. We hope we can still do the same through our Instagram handle @flytriplets. And who knows, maybe we will come back to this in a few years.

2. It takes 3 to start a blog, and apparently it takes 3 to continue blogging so we're just gonna throw it out there. Kylie got divorced, Lisa adopted a baby, Megan bought a new house, and personal life sorta took over. For any of those who have been wondering the last year has been a whirlwind to say the least. Life has a funny way of working things out, and it definitely doesn't always go as planned. But we are thankful we have each other to navigate these life changes together.

3. Since we've been gone we have been to the following countries and places: Bali, Costa Rica, the Grand Canyon, Mexico, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Slovenia, Italy, Canada, Patagonia, Hawaii, and various other places in the United States. You can see our travel photos on our Instagram feed, but if you would like more details on anything shoot us an email or a DM and we would love to give you the scoop.

We just want to thank you for hanging in there with us since the beginning in 2009. We appreciate your support and love over the years. It's sad to let go,  but we're just normal girls who wanna live life to it's fullest. Let life's adventures continue, see you out there!

xoxo,

K, L, M

We're sharing tips for traveling with long-distance friends on GrindTV! Check out our article here and get our inside scoop on how we make adventures happen with all the milage between us. That's the thing about travel - once you make it a priority you'll always be looking for ways to make it a part of your life, and often times that requires a little creativity and a lot of patience. It's hard living apart and making plans can be discouraging if you don't quite know how to organize your life in a way that aligns with what your heart really wants.
We're breaking it down for you to get you on the road (or plane) with your buddies this summer! Check out our tips and be sure to read the full article over here!

1. You'll need some lead time
2. Use online tools to organize travel plans
3. Figure out a system for sharing expenses
4. Decide on a point person
5. Put it to a vote
6. Save your best behavior for each other

We've been a little off the grid lately. Megan had her baby girl 2 months early and has spent every waking moment with her in the NICU making trips back and forth between home and the hospital, while also raising her 2-year old love-bug, Vanny. She'll talk more on this later! Lisa has been a busy bee with her jewelry creations and work, and I've spent the last two months packing, moving and then traveling throughout Europe. It's been a whirlwind for sure!

Just wanted to pop in and say HELLO and let you know we have lots in store for you this Spring and Summer! Stay tuned for tips on road tripping from Los Angeles to San Francisco, National Parks throughout California, skiing in the Swiss and French Alps and visiting Switzerland and France! We've got a lot of ground to cover and we're determined to make it happen! Thanks for hanging in there with us and for sticking around during our ups and downs and all arounds :)

HELLO!

Vasquez Rocks, CA

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

I felt like writing this today because I understand there can be mis-conceptions with how we interpret or view other people's lives by how they are portrayed on instagram or blogs. Nothing triggered this post that made me feel the need to rant. I just sat down to blog today and these are the words that kept coming to the surface of my mind, so I thought I would pour them out. Perhaps I am writing this just for you.

Life is not always what it may appear to be. Despite our common knowledge of this concept, it can still be tricky to accept. My sisters and I live very normal lives, just as many of you do. Our passion for travel and adventure lives within each of our souls and drives the kind of lives we choose to live, which is what we like to share with all of you. We work hard to achieve the things we do and encourage others to do the same. But we most certainly are just three girls, three sisters, and three friends. We are employees, mothers,  entrepreneurs, wives, daughters and sisters.

We are human.

We live the daily ups and downs with relationships, finances, friends, jobs and health just like you do. Life is not meant to be perfect, it is not meant to be all flowers. It is meant to be hard. It is meant to help us grow and become better people. It is meant for us to experience trials, sickness, heart ache and even loss. But most of all, it is meant to make us strong and to help us shine. Because without hard things, we would not be able to appreciate the good. Opposition in all things creates a balance we as human beings need.

I'm still not really sure what drove me to write this today, as it wasn't on my mind at all until I sat down. But I know it is something we can all be reminded of, including myself. Life is beautiful. We can all work harder on seeing the good in others and we here at Traveling Triplets strive for just that. Creating a positive space to share adventure, travel and love. We hope you all know that and can feel that as we are genuine in what we portray here on the world wide web. Thank you for sticking around, and I hope you have a wonderful day! Now go make some lemonade :)

LIFE IS FULL OF LEMONS

Are you planning an epic trip for Spring Break this year?! We've got you covered on our feature with Without Walls with tips on how to tackle your adventure bucket list and hit the open road with a couple of your best friends. Read our interview here!

In a nut:

1. Be Resourceful
2. Think Outside the Box
3. Communication is Key
4. Everyone Travels Differently, and That's OK
5. Plan the Big Stuff, and Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

We don't let milage get between us when it comes to having fun and traveling together. As you know, the sisterhood is far more clever than that. From creating secret moodboards on Pinterest to pin all our plans to Google hangouts online we've mastered the art of planning to make things happen. We've all got our own jobs and our busy lives with very different schedules - but like mama always said, where there's a will there's a way. And we will never stop exploring!

It's funny how sometimes we as humans tend to get caught up in having to do something drastic to have a little fun. Because lets face the facts, it's not always easy to book a ticket and leave for a month. Although we don't let life get in the way as an excuse, we do constantly seek to find adventure right outside our front door.

This past weekend my husband and I decided to take a little cruise of San Diego Harbor just for fun. It was primarily exploring the military and naval base which was very interesting to learn about, but we also got to see some of San Diego's most well known landmarks besides the naval base, including Hotel Del Coronado, Point Loma, a few hidden away resorts and the Coronado Bridge. We enjoyed the two hour boat ride and relaxed in the sun, breathing in the salty air!

The great thing about Flagship cruises is that afterwards you're in the heart of downtown! Chase and I enjoyed a delicious salmon sandwich right there at a cute cafe on the bay. It was beautiful watching the sunset and enjoying the change of scenery. And let's not forget, it's about a 10-15 minute walk from Little Italy. SCORE!

FYI: Pop on over to Without Walls and read our feature on how to plan a trip with your friends! Spring break is right around the corner, so now is the time people :)

MY SISTER, MY SIDEKICK

Top c/o Without Walls

We were on our way to our home mountain, Bogus Basin, for some night skiing when we just had to stop and soak in the view. TAKE. A. LOOK. It is unreal! The clouds were low and we were afraid skiing conditions were going to be terrible, but suddenly as we passed a certain peak the fog cleared and we were above a beautiful blanket of clouds! It was like dying and going to heaven, minus the dying part.

It was my first time taking my baby boy Van skiing. Well, he's not so much a baby anymore. At 23 months old he skied like a champ for at least two hours before it was time to take a break. I enjoyed every step of the way. Layering him up, buckling his boots, and attaching his edgie wedgie to the tips of his skis. He skied back and forth to mom and dad and we were dying of cuteness. He makes me such a proud mom!

Did we mention that I am pregnant with my second? Yep! Baby #2 is coming this spring! And I'm having a GIRL!!!!! She is due May 7th and I couldn't be more excited to give Van a little sister and a little girl to pal with when the boys do boy stuff. So here I am in my 23 weeks baby bump glory, and somehow the shirt still fit! Fantastic.

Spots by Judy Brummer is a delightful read. Her stories and adventures portrayed through her eyes as a child were absolutely beautiful. There are so many lessons to be learned through children and their innocent demeanor and this book shares just that. The relationship between the three girls was cherished enough that even growing up on a farm in Africa where cultural and racial turmoil was all too familiar, there was fun to be had and endless love to be shared.

We read this book aloud as sisters around the campfire, taking turns chapter by chapter. After crawling into our tents smelling of wood and filled with s'mores, we would read some more snuggled up in our sleeping bags. There was something so sweet reading about three cute little friends as three sisters ourselves. There is a tender bond there that can't help but emulate love.

Today we are giving away one Spots book to a lucky reader! It will make for the perfect holiday read as we reflect on this special time of year celebrating Christ's birth and love.

Enter to win this book by following these steps:

1.) Leave a comment below including your email
2.) Follow Traveling Triplets on Blog lovin' or by email (see side bar)

All entries will be verified. Giveaway will close on New Years Eve and winner will be contacted on January 1st. For a full summary and more reviews, please read HERE. Spots is also now available to purchase as an ebook HERE!

Kidecals are name labels for kids and adults that are both versatile and durable, and lets not forget adorable. Anything ombre I must own, so of course this keycal had my name written all over it. Definitely makes my online shopping this season all the merrier. Especially with fresh baked cookies and a warm cup of cocoa, sigh.

I am a person who loves to be tidy and neat, so slappin' these babies on my baking jars made perfect sense! And trust me, I've put them to great use this holiday season.

How about a cute little mustache sticker for your baby's sippy cups? You can get a whole set with a variety of colors for your party cups too, and they are dishwasher safe! So if you are racking your brains for some last minute Christmas gift ideas, here are a few with Kidecals !

MONDAY BLUES

If you're still deciding on the perfect gift for your lover this year, just remember - #Stanleyness is man-lyness. BUT, it doesn't stop there! It's also woman-lyness! We don't just consider this a gift for him. Stanley is the gift that keeps giving - built for a lifetime. Stanley Brand has been around since 1913 and mastered the art of keeping our liquids hot and/or cold, and also on the go.

Stanley Brand line-up found HERE (flask, vacuum mug, and vacuum pint)

I've always admired how their products are timeless, and have used them my entire life as a go-to staple for not just outdoors adventures but the everyday commutes. From driving in the car to work in the morning, pedaling on a bicycle or hiking to a mountain top for a picnic lunch - Stanley is there. My mom used it. My grandma even used it. It's just a part of the family adventure line.

I love that when we use these products they tell a story - our family has used them for generations. You'll see them in grandpa's tackle box when you go fishing or in the details of dusty film photos from the 50s in old shoe boxes of your great grandma's closet. Today we fill our mugs with hot cocoa or soup, and because we don't drink alcohol our flasks with energy drinks for an extra zing on those long roadtrips (yeah, awesome idea!). We know this is the kind of gift any adventurer would love and appreciate, and should definitely have on their gear list. Shop now for 30% off plus free shipping with coupon code FROSTY and get this checked off your Christmas list for next year's adventure-having you know you're going to have!

*This post sponsored by Stanley Brand. But we don't need sponsorship to love these products. They've been killin' it in our books since we were born and long before, and we're proud to stand by them to represent their #Stanleyness and their total awesomeness.
