 Sports Duffle Bag c/o: Vooray

A moody sky and morning stretches made for a great day. There is always something about breathing in the fresh air that truly calms the soul. Greeting the canyon each morning never got old. The air was clean, the view was epic, and the colors were rich in varying natural hues. It truly is a sight to behold and leaves you feeling mind blown.

Destination: Thunder Mountain / Location: High desert of Northern Nevada

Looking for a historic sight off the beaten path? You might be like us and find yourself accidently stumbling upon this interesting place somewhere in Nevada. Jam packed with dramatic folk art paying tribute to the Native Americans for the suffering they endured during the brutality of the early settlement days, this roadside wonder is turning heads off the I-80. For the curious at heart, we're pulling over to snoop around its ruins. Now abandoned, Thunder Mountain stays alive entirely dependent on charitable donations by visitors to the monument. It's definitely an interesting place with sort of an eerie feeling to it, but it's nice to see that someone was passionate enough to dedicate their life to creating art for a cause.

THUNDER MOUNTAIN - FROM THE ROAD

Thunder Mountain, NV

Are you planning an epic trip for Spring Break this year?! We've got you covered on our feature with Without Walls with tips on how to tackle your adventure bucket list and hit the open road with a couple of your best friends. Read our interview here!

In a nut:

1. Be Resourceful
2. Think Outside the Box
3. Communication is Key
4. Everyone Travels Differently, and That's OK
5. Plan the Big Stuff, and Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

We don't let milage get between us when it comes to having fun and traveling together. As you know, the sisterhood is far more clever than that. From creating secret moodboards on Pinterest to pin all our plans to Google hangouts online we've mastered the art of planning to make things happen. We've all got our own jobs and our busy lives with very different schedules - but like mama always said, where there's a will there's a way. And we will never stop exploring!

Destination: Eastern Sierras / Location: Gus's Jerky

When you're making the drive through the Eastern Sierras, Gus's Jerky is one of those places you just gotta stop and grab a snack. They have everything a road tripper could drool over from your salty to sweet cravings and even a few random in between-ers you just can't live without. Their jerky is bomb and the whole place just reeks of road trip charm. There's also a little chihuahua named Pepita who likes to lounge in the sun and wait for dog lovers to come give her a good rub. She's probably my favorite part about the place. We sunbathed together and ate our jerky.

If you haven't been to the Grand Tetons in Wyoming, you gotta put it on your bucketlist and get your buns over there. Right now it's coated in a blanket of fresh powder, and in the fall months it's the perfect fusion of mountain chill and leftover summer sunny warmth. The Tetons hold a special place for us - it's where we skiied our hearts out in college and made some pretty rad memories with our friends. With over 200 miles of trails and the Snake River running through this remarkable terrain, you can explore these ranges for years before you see it all. Check out Grand Teton National Park for some details on what to do and where to go and get your mountain adventure started!

Floral workout leggings c/o Albion Fit

Every road trip needs one good thing - a super comfy flexible amazingly cozy almost non-existent pant. Enter leggings. These workout pants double as a casual every-day "aren't these just a ray of sunshine" pant, and I get stopped by strangers to ask where I got them to rave over their cuteness. I have to say, there's something about them that just puts me in a good mood. This road trip things got a little wild and I showed off some of my best worst moves.

BRING ALBION ON YOUR ROAD TRIP

We dance for fun and we don't care how lame our moves are!
Shot this over our birthday trip to Big Sur in May.
Good time with the sissies.

SHAKE IT OFF

This is what happens when you get triplet sisters together after a long dry spell.
And when one of them gets tired, great measures are taken to change that.

TRIPLETS ARE CRAZY

My husband Chase and I decided to take the coastal route on our way to a family reunion this summer. Our first stop was in Santa Barbara where we had breakfast and I drank the most delicious hot chocolate ever, see photo HERE.  Then we made our way through Pismo Beach and ended our day in Morro Bay. We were sure to make plenty of pit stops to enjoy the sites and attractions, starting in Pismo.

Pismo beach was a cute little beach town with some restaurants and lots of dune buggies to rent and ride on the beach. We didn't have the time, so went for some salt water taffy at the local candy store. Growing up whenever my family visited a small beach town on the coast, my dad would search for the nearest local taffy store and load us up with delicious treats. Taffy shops are always painted so cute and smell delicious, I just love them. It's a tradition I'd like to keep and do with my own family that my dad is probably unaware he even started :). After I stuffed my belly with taffy, my husband and I ate at an adorable train diner that served both Greek food and the usual burgers, fries and shakes. Then we drove through Los Osos to check out Spooners Cove and ended our day in Morro Bay. We explored the backside of the rock obsessing over all the cute otters eating clams and simply enjoyed mother nature and all her beauty.

GETTIN' COASTAL

Santa Barbara, CA

Sometimes in life things go terribly wrong. Like when you think it's a brilliant idea to sit in your car (without the engine on or running) to charge up your phone for a little extra juice. Or when you think it's even better to end up sitting far longer than expected, say...an hour, to pass the juice around to each sister's phone... yeah, we can be a little dense sometimes, haha.

I just remember trying to start my car when we were ready to move on and done with our ghetto parking lot picnic lunch and having a total panic attack when it wouldn't start. My first thoughts, "We're three girls alone! We have no boys to help! Our phones are almost dead! Who will we call?! We don't have AAA anymore, BAHHHH!" ... for goodness sake, I didn't even have jumper cables in my car.

That's when Lisa in her almighty confidence and power put her foot down and said, "Dude, chill out." and started delegating. "Kylie, go to the road with your thumb up and wave people down to help. Megan, try to see if you can call dad (yep, still calling dad at 26 years old haha)." I was like, "Well what are you doing?!" And she said, "Not freaking out." Point taken. It could have been due to my lack of sleep from hard grounds or just the fact that I felt a burden of responsibility being my vehicle and all, that I may or may not have overreacted.

Luckily within about 20 minutes we waved down an army dude who was super nice and super helpful, had jumper cables and a Mustang with enough power to give us juice to get going again. This was a learning experience for us - to always have jumper cables in your car. Never charge a phone when the engine is not running. And don't be afraid to approach strangers in times of need.

So there you have it. Big girl doing big girl things even though I'd rather just curl up in a ball. The last pic is my joy after my little meltdown when I realized all was good in the world, again. After having a couple other people try to jump us and fail, we were grateful to the Mustang for being there when we needed them. Here's to kind strangers on the road! And the lovely abandoned Piedras Blancas Motel for sponsoring our afternoon, haha.
