There's nothing like being home for Christmas! Idaho greeted us with beautiful, white and fluffy snow. Our husbands built a ginormous snowman on Christmas Eve, so by Christmas day he was leaning a little with some parts missing.  But he brought a smile to everyones face before he decided to take a crash landing.

This year, our mom decided to have the family spend Christmas day in pajamas! Since all of our siblings live in Idaho and have kids, Kylie and I were the only ones that could spend the night at my parents house (no kids perk). There's something about the comfort of your childhood home that makes you feel like a kid again. Kylie and I soaked up every second with Mom and Dad, waking up on Christmas morning with each other and our spouses. By the time breakfast time rolled around and the cinnamon rolls were ready, the other siblings began trickling in and opening presents.

Christmas was basically spent eating and lounging in our pajamas as the snow fell outside our windows. It was truly magical. How was your Christmas?! Tell us below!

Over New Years Kylie and I got together to enjoy our long holiday weekend. Mt. Baldy was the destination and it's funny how sometimes plans don't really go as "planned." We arrived at Mt. Baldy with intentions of riding the chair lift to the tippy top and doing a little exploring, followed by warming up in the lodge with some yummy food. But the bummer is, the moment we showed up after the bad New Years traffic the chair lift had closed (hah). I guess it was too crowded at the top and they weren't able to let anyone else ride the lift. It also only moves about 2 mph (haha) so it takes a long time for them to get people up and down. We were kinda bummed, but there wasn't a lot of snow anyway so we decided to do a little hike instead.

Close by we found a trail to a beautiful waterfall. It was super short and easy so you don't have to be too prepared for a legit hike, it's more of a stroll. Once we turned the final corner and saw the icy waterfall we knew we had made it. There was a little sledding hill nearby which looked super sketchy in my mind since there was a small stream trickling below it, but people were sledding none the less. Not what I would recommend, sledding on icy snow but hey people do what they want I suppose. On our way back, we caught the sun going to sleep in the mountains and it was absolutely gorgeous. Blows my mind how this place is only a short hour from LA. I love that about California, there is so much to explore and we really do have the best of both worlds here, ocean and mountains. So get out and explore!

BYE, 2014! HI, 2015!

Merry Christmas, lovely readers! We hope it's merry & bright!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Kidecals are name labels for kids and adults that are both versatile and durable, and lets not forget adorable. Anything ombre I must own, so of course this keycal had my name written all over it. Definitely makes my online shopping this season all the merrier. Especially with fresh baked cookies and a warm cup of cocoa, sigh.

I am a person who loves to be tidy and neat, so slappin' these babies on my baking jars made perfect sense! And trust me, I've put them to great use this holiday season.

How about a cute little mustache sticker for your baby's sippy cups? You can get a whole set with a variety of colors for your party cups too, and they are dishwasher safe! So if you are racking your brains for some last minute Christmas gift ideas, here are a few with Kidecals !

KIDECALS: GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEAS

This year for Christmas I wanted two Christmas trees! We chopped down one in the forest (as seen here) for our porch outside and the other one we ended up getting at a tree lot. It's full and beautiful and most importantly, Van approves!

A few must haves for tree shopping are as follows:

1. Christmas spirit- don't let anything get you down, even a screaming toddler or tight budget
2. Hot chocolate- I brought mine in my awesome Stanley thermos and it stayed hot the entire time
3. Rope- you will need the appropriate twine to tie your tree to your rooftop, especially if you cut your tree down in the forest, but most often this is provided at tree lots/farms

We hope you are enjoying this Christmas season and the smell of pine in your homes like we are. Have a great Monday!

Spooky season has come to a close and we hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween. Kylie and I started ours off with a bang by going to Knotts Scary Farm to shoot zombies and walk through endless and demented haunted houses. Megan threw a holiday decorating cupcake party with family earlier in the month and on Halloween hosted another fun party with friends. The theme was "Classic Movies," so her little family went as ET, Elliot and Gertie. We all handed out candy to cute trick or treaters and made sure to enjoy some ourselves. What were you for Halloween this year?

HALLOWEEN

Destination: Baywood Inn / Location: Los Osos, California / Accommodations: Start at $100+

In planning our sister road trip to Big Sur, I mapped out campsites and roadside pit stops and among all the fuss I made sure to include a few nights at a little cabin or B&B to freshen up and relax without smelling like a campfire. When I found this darling little B&B in the sleepy town of Los Osos, I knew I had to snag a room before they were gone on a holiday weekend. It was perfect. The location was right on the water overlooking the beautiful Morro Bay with a long dock to take walks down, and restaurants just feet away to enjoy with the complimentary coupon Baywood Inn provides.

I have to say - the service here was SUPERB. By far some of the nicest, coolest most down to earth customer service I'd ever received. They were amazing to us, and when they found out it was our birthday they even gave us a free upgrade! The people in this area enjoy a slow life and are warm and inviting. Just a few miles from Montana de Oro State Park and a short drive to downtown for movie theaters, shopping and eating we couldn't have been more pleased.

We chose the cabin room for obvious reasons, and were so happy and cozy with a gas-powered fire to keep us warm. After taking turns showering and catching up on a little social media, we ordered in some food and ate dinner while snuggling up to a romantic movie and slurping chocolate malt milkshakes till they were gone. It was the perfect place to relax and put our feet up. We all three slept comfortably on the bed, intertwined just like the days back in mama's womb. I think she this sister slumber party would have been a scene that would make any mama's heart swell.
